Willis creek is a slot canyon that follows a small stream and never gets too narrow. Of all the slot canyons that we’ve been to in the southwest (and there have been dozens), this one, by far, gives you the most bang for your buck. Once you get to cannonville from wherever you’re coming from, turn down kodachrome road (towards kodachrome basin state park) which will eventually.

Enjoy the yellow and black colors on the wall. You simply walk down the stream bed and right into the canyon. We were told we would see skutumpah road when we saw red picnic tables and windmills.

As the name implies the trail follows the creek, your feet will get wet but it is generally only an inch or two deep. We hiked with an 11, 10, 7 and 2 year old without any difficulty. And, unlike other slot canyons.

About 3/4 a mile in, a side canyon comes in from the left. We started in cannonville, utah and drove south on cottonwood canyon road for nearly 3 miles. Here’s a trail map that shows you the narrows through willis creek. Definitely a highly recommended slot from me.
